September Fulfillment Update
over 1 year ago – Thu, Sep 01, 2022 at 11:00:54 PM

Hi everyone!

It's the first of September - our final Kickstarter wave fulfillment month! Let's check in and see how we're doing, and how far we have to go.

Key Takeaways

  • August was a close one - down to the wire - but we did ship the wave out on time. As usual, there are a handful of late response orders still pending shipment, but these should all be resolved and out the door in the next week or so.
  • September addresses are locking in 48 hours. We will be hitting pause to update our inventory numbers and deal with outstanding returns once more, then launching into September.
  •  Production for the September wave is over 97% complete as of this update, so we will begin shipping September orders as soon as our end-of-month bookkeeping wraps up.
  • Pre-orders remain open, but will be shutting down in just over a week on September 9th.

By The Numbers

Below are the total number of backers in each fulfillment  wave, as    well as the number of shipped/pending status backers in each.  Note      that the total number of backers in each wave will change as we    begin  each new round of fulfillment, due to backers who have failed  to    respond to the survey being rolled into the next wave. In  addition, pre-orders remain open.

Wave 1: February - 456 backers *COMPLETE*

  • 456 shipped, 0 pending
  • 100.0% fulfilled

Wave 2: March - 622 backers *COMPLETE*

  • 622 shipped, 0 pending
  • 100.0% fulfilled

Fulfillment... continues

There's not much left to say - we're in the home stretch of fulfillment on this project! It's been a long one. Thanks again to all of you for sticking it out with us, and we hope you're enjoying everything. If you're still waiting on your order - take heart! It won't be long now! :)

Mid-August Fulfillment Update
over 1 year ago – Tue, Aug 16, 2022 at 04:51:55 AM

Hello everyone!

Let's check in and see how fulfillment is going.

Key Takeaways

  •  June and July are fully shipped, with the exception of orders for which the shipping addresses have issues that need to be corrected - the backers have been contacted directly about this. Still, they are not marked "complete" below since we do have a pending shipment in each wave.
  • August addresses are locked, and shipping has begun. We're roughly 45% shipped through the wave at the mid-month mark, and don't anticipate any issues wrapping up the wave on time. The biggest pain point is probably the Hexagonal Dice Trays, but ultimately we should be able to wrap everything up within the next week or so and get it all shipped out by the end of the month.
  • Pre-orders remain open, but will be shutting down in the next 2-4 weeks.

By The Numbers

Below are the total number of backers in each fulfillment  wave, as   well as the number of shipped/pending status backers in each.  Note     that the total number of backers in each wave will change as we   begin  each new round of fulfillment, due to backers who have failed to    respond to the survey being rolled into the next wave. In addition, pre-orders remain open.

Wave 1: February - 456 backers *COMPLETE*

  • 456 shipped, 0 pending
  • 100.0% fulfilled

Wave 2: March - 622 backers *COMPLETE*

  • 622 shipped, 0 pending
  • 100.0% fulfilled

Wave 3: April - 813 backers *COMPLETE*

  • 813 shipped, 0 pending
  • 100.0% fulfilled

Wave 4: May - 829 backers *COMPLETE*

  • 829 shipped, 0 pending
  • 100.0% fulfilled

Wave 5: June - 808 backers

  • 807 shipped, 1 pending
  • 99.9% fulfilled

Wave 6: July - 977 backers

  • 976 shipped, 1 pending
  • 99.9% fulfilled

Wave 7: August - 1,089 backers

  • 474 shipped, 615 pending
  • 43.5% fulfilled

Wave 8: September - 714 backers

  • Fulfillment not started

Pre-orders - 645 backers

  • Fulfillment not started

Fulfillment... continues

We're poised to wrap up August, and then it's on to September, the final wave of the campaign, with pre-orders to follow hot on the heels of that... and then, we'll be done! Hard to believe, it's been a long road... but we're nearing the end. Thanks for sticking it out with us, and I look forward to crossing the finish line and getting all of you your orders as soon as possible. Until next time!

August Fulfillment Update
over 1 year ago – Thu, Aug 11, 2022 at 03:57:15 PM

Hello, out there!

It's August 1st, and I'm back with another monthly update. Let's check in and see what's happening.

Key Takeaways

  • July has been over 90% shipped out at time of filming, over 95% shipped at July's end. The remaining unshipped orders in this wave were order changes or late finalizations, but we do expect to ship out these orders very soon.
  • We're going to be locking down August addresses shortly. Backers, you'll receive address lock notifications soon, and should make any changes to your address in the next 48 hours.
  • As planned, we'll pause to take a fresh inventory, then address Promise issues from the past few weeks, before moving onto August shipping.
  • Pre-orders remain open, but will be shutting down in the next 6 weeks or so, since fulfillment of pre-orders will likely begin during September.
  • There are still backers that did not fill out their surveys. These backers will have the next few weeks to respond, but after that will be removed from the project and issued a Gyft Certificate via email, as we need to finalize all our numbers for the end of production. If you haven't filled out your survey for any reason, do not delay further!

By The Numbers

In addition, pre-orders remain open.

Fulfillment... continues

We're about to start shipping the August tier, which is our largest remaining wave. We're in the home stretch, but not quite finished yet. Stay tuned, and I'll be back on the 15th to let you know how August is looking. Until next time!

Mid-July Fulfillment Update (and our latest project is LIVE NOW!)
almost 2 years ago – Fri, Jul 15, 2022 at 01:55:42 PM

Hello, backers!

It's NOT the 15th, but this one is dropping a day early, since we've got big (non-fulfillment) news! But first, let's see how fulfillment is going.

 Key Takeaways

  • There has been some confusion with backers not understanding what fulfillment wave they are in - this is due to a restraint of the Kickstarter platform. We had one, single pledge tier for all backers to select. In the past, we've placed limits on tiers, but this causes the page to lag and stutter when under heavy traffic - which always happens at launch. This leads to all kinds of problems where backers are trying to rush into a monthly wave, but end up missing out because of technical issues, which is a really crappy experience, instead of the exciting, fun one we want it to be. So we needed to change how we approached the platform. The single, unlimited tier is the answer. It doesn't suffer from the technical glitches, but it comes at a cost: we can't clarify on Kickstarter directly, when you pledge, what your wave will be. But we do publish the schedule, and gave you a solid estimate via our pledge calculator, if you used it at the time of your pledge. The waves are determined by backer number - so generally speaking, the earliest backers to pledge are the earliest ones to get their rewards. I'll put the chart up here, and also include it in the update below the video. You'll just need your backer number, which you can find on Kickstarter, in your pledge details for the project. The key point to remember is, only the first 500 backers were in February. If you didn't pledge immediately when the campaign went live, you probably are in a later wave. Finally, please note, your wave could have changed from what this table indicates for various reasons - mostly due to backer non-response, or backers requesting changes that would cause us to push fulfillment back. But for the vast majority of you, if you filled out the survey on time, you can find your wave here.
  • The Tracker Tile has come up a lot in messages and comments, and the "feel" of the finished product may not match what many backers were expecting. We spent a lot of time thinking and working on the feel of the dial; recognizing that a "Goldilocks" setting is virtually impossible, given how subjective the matter is, we had to err on one side or the other. If it's too tight, it's going to be a little harder to turn, which can be inconvenient. But if it's too loose, you could lose track of a vital stat during a game, and potentially ruin it, wasting hours. We considered the latter a much more serious risk, so opted to err on the side of stiffer action. I'd recommend you experiment with it to see if you can get used to the feeling of the Tile. A couple of tips to help that go more smoothly: first, hold the Tile in your hand when you're turning a dial. Second, we recommend using a fingernail in the grooves of the dial to push it - it's generally the easiest, most comfortable way to turn the dial, rather than the pad of your thumb. But, as I said, experiment, and find what works best for you. As with anything, if you absolutely hate it, just get in touch with us and we'll be happy to help.
  • Now, onto the fulfillment news! June is completely shipped (with the exception of literally 2 orders), and we're wrapping up any outstanding Craftsman's Promise requests so we're caught up through the end of June. Requests coming in during July will be addressed ASAP after the July wave completes shipping.
  • This delay is for the benefit of our production (and our sanity). We produce to specific numbers needed for fulfillment, and then top off with the stock needed for exchanges or replacements, so handling them in batches works well. If they just get handled when they come in, our stock numbers will drift badly of course, and we'll only know it when we try to ship an order, and find we're missing an item. We could try to make these corrections on the fly, but production will then have to correct numbers daily and that's going to cause a ton of headaches, and probably errors. Overall, it's a lot more efficient to do things all at once in a monthly batch.
  • July addresses are locked, and headed to fulfillment very soon. Our goal is to be ready to ship by the time you're watching this video, shipping heavily by the end of next week.
  • After July has been shipped, we'll address all Promise requests coming in during July, then restart the fulfillment cycle by taking a fresh inventory for August.
  • August addresses will lock close to the end of this month or beginning of next.

Fulfillment Wave Guide

And on it goes! I'll be back in August to let you know how July turned out, and how the rest of fulfillment looks. Overall, things remain on track, and in great shape. I don't anticipate any disruption of that as we close out fulfillment over the next two months, but if that changes, I'll be sure to let you know right here. Until next time!

July Fulfillment Update
almost 2 years ago – Sat, Jul 02, 2022 at 09:15:07 AM

Hey, everyone - it's a new month, and that means an update to look back at June, and look forward to what awaits in July.

This one's a good one! Let's dive in.

Key Takeaways

  • At this point, the following waves are fulfilled: February, March, April, and May. June is also fulfilled, with the exception of the late survey confirmations - these are in progress, but not fully shipped yet. This means that as of this update, the project fulfillment is back on schedule!
  • Looking at the project as a whole, we are more than halfway done with campaign fulfillment.
  • July production is over 80% complete - we expect to be done with July and in the home stretch for August production (already over 60% complete) by the end of next week. At this point, we're firmly pulling ahead.
  • While we finish up June, we're going to move ahead and lock July addresses soon. You should receive a reminder to verify your address via email early next week - be sure to make any changes needed within 48 hours.
  • Once the remaining June orders are 100% fulfilled, we'll be pausing to take an inventory once again, then staging all the orders for July fulfillment, as well as dealing with any exchanges or returns. This will give us a clean slate moving forward into July. I expect we'll begin to ship July orders in the next 2 weeks, and should have no trouble finishing the July wave by month's end.
  • As I stated in the last update, we don't anticipate any roadblocks or major headwinds from here on out. Production is going well, necessary materials are here, and we should be able to hold to our original estimated shipping timeline.
  • Pre-orders will close in September, and we will begin shipping them immediately after we wrap up the final Kickstarter wave. They should wrap up fulfilling in October, bringing the project to a close.

Fulfillment Goes On

It's been an uphill battle, but we've finally hit the landmark of getting fulfillment back on time and in line with our original projections, even with unexpected supply chain issues, unforeseen production and development hurdles, and more. I'm very proud of the team here for all their hard work getting us to this point. However, we aren't done yet - we still have half the project left to fulfill. So we can't relax yet! I'll check in at the mid-month point to let you all know what progress we've made. Thank you for your support, and I'll catch up with you in a couple weeks.
